E-Commerce and Export Support for MSMEs with GIZ

Understanding the digital world and digital marketing is not just the key to the future but it is the most powerful and least expensive direction MSMEs in Lebanon can use to explore international markets especially after the different crises that have emerged in Lebanon, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the Beirut Port Explosion. By setting the right digital strategy in place, MSMEs can significantly increase brand awareness, customer engagement, improve operations, generate sales, and explore new opportunities in the export market at a minimal investment cost.

This Project “Improvement of MSME Competitiveness and Scalability through E-Commerce and Exports” is implemented by the Rural Initiative in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The Rural Initiative’s team is allocating 15 experienced coaches to provide training, coaching and in-kind support to 35 MSMEs to overcome various business and technical challenges and enable them to enhance their competitiveness and scale locally and internationally through digital sales. The program will walk the MSMEs through the process of building a successful ecommerce and exports model to help them identify the best way to position their brand vis-à-vis the market, set-up/optimize their e-store, understand the most important key performance indicators to ultimately sustain and grow their business.
